This is the Blackcomb Glacier Provincial Park boundary from Open Street Map. The waypoint density is thickened to 100 meters. Blackcomb Glacier Provincial Park was created from lands that were deleted from Garibaldi Provincial Park. The idea was to make it easier to give away Blackcomb Glacier park lands to Whistler-Blackcomb since it could not be viewed as a deletion from Garibaldi Park.Click Here for Gmap Rendering {GPSCONTENT ["id": 12, "elevation": 1, "speed": 1, "hr": 1]}

Deer and Moose Winter Range U2-002

The BC government publishes the boundaries of approved deer and moose winter range as part of the Forest and Range Practices Act. Garibaldi At Squamish will be destroying one square kilometer of critical deer winter range. No compensatory habitat can be added since winter range requires low elevation old growth, which can take 350 years to establish. For all intents and purposes, the critical habitat is lost forever. GAS gets the deer winter range for about $5,000 per acre according to...

Anders Ourom provided the following perspective: There may be other aspects to this question that should be considered. It may be in the best...

Singing Pass Trail Fiasco Summary

All through the 1960s through 1980s the public were able to drive to the Singing Pass trailhead at the Garibaldi Provincial Park boundary up Fitzsimmons Creek. The right has never been extinguished. It is in the public interest and the public...
